The idea to create a baking company is born.
The name of Bimbo appears for the first time.

1963
Start of the first administrative restructuring, creating the corporate structure, located in Ejército Nacional avenue in México City.
1964
BIMBO® acquires the right to use in Mexico the Sunbeam® brand from Quality Bakers of America.
1967
Lunch of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate super Submarinos® Marinela®.

1971
Barcel® starts its operations with the acquisition of a small confectionary plant in Mexico City.
1972
In Azapotzalco, Mexico City, Bimbo® installs Latin America’s largest bakery, and one of the 10 largest in the world.
1973
Bimbo ventures into the jam market. The Carmel line addressed Marinela´s raw material supply need.

1974
The Suandy® brand is born. Dedicated to produce pound cakes, cakes and cookies under the names Pastisetas®,
and Biscotel® among others.1975
Conchas Bimbo® start to be produced.
Barcel launches Palomitas Barcel in different presentations: caramel, salty and with chili pepper.

1976
Tortillinas Tía Rosa® are launched.
1978
Ricolino® is created as Grupo Bimbo’s confectionery and chocolate leading brand.
Bubulubu® is born. -
1989
Bimbo Centroamérica is created with the construction of a plant in Guatemala that opened in 1990.
1990
Milpa Real® corn tortillas and Lonchibón® go on sale. Barcel launches Chip’s.

Grupo Bimbo acquires the North American bakery Mrs Baird's®.
2001
Acquisition of Plus Vita® and Pullman® in Brazil.
2002
Acquisition of the baking business of George Weston Limited in the Western coast of the USA, owner of the Oroweat ® brand.

Joyco, producer of Duvalin®, Bocadin® and Lunetas®,
becomes part of the Group.2005
"El Globo®" and chocolates "La Corona®" are acquired
2006
Acquisition of Panrico, a Beijing baking company; thus, Grupo Bimbo starts having a presence in the Asian market.
2008
In Brazil, the baking company Nutrella® in acquired.
