Panificación Bimbo (i.e., “Bimbo Bread Bakeries”) kicked off operations on December 2, 1945. Its creators’ vision was to “make truly good, nutritious, tasty, fresh bread…to do it the right way, amid cleanliness and as perfect as possible, for nurture and pleasure, reaching every household in Mexico.”

Lorenzo Servitje, Jaime Jorba, Jaime Sendra, José T. Mata, Alfonso Velasco and Roberto Servitje were its original founders.

Early on, they only baked four bread varieties: Super-Pan Bimbo (small and large), black bread and pre-toasted.
