Merco (Company Monitor for Corporate Reputation), the leading company in its sector, announced today its ranking “The 100 Companies with the best Social Responsibility and Governance 2020”, as well as the extraordinary list “The 30 Companies with the Most Social Responsibility/Commitment During the Pandemic”, for which Grupo Bimbo got first place.

The ranking of the companies with the best Social Responsibility and Governance is done based on certain indicators designed by Merco, which include over 4,400 surveys, four evaluations and 11 sources of information, among which are consumers, financial analysts, company directors, journalists, experts, NGOs, authorities and associations, among others.

Among the attributes evaluated to build this ranking are ethical behavior, contributions to the community, commitment to the environment, being a good company to work in, transparency and good governance.

It is important to point out that Grupo Bimbo has placed first in this ranking consecutively since 2014.

In 2020, MERCO included an annex to the study done each year since 2013, to make a ranking of those companies that have stood out for their contribution to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this list, Grupo Bimbo also occupies the first place.

Miguel Angel Espinoza, CEO of Bimbo in Mexico, mentioned “we thank MERCO for this recognition, which reflects the work and dedication of our more than 75 thousand collaborators in Mexico, who this year more than ever have given their all in order for us to reach the tables of Mexican families and accompany them during this difficult time”. He added that “in our 75th anniversary, we reiterate the commitment that we’ve had since the beginning, to Mexico and its people. We will continue to work always in favor of the wellbeing and development of communities, as well as sustainability”.
