Puebla and Tijuana, cradle of the 2008 Futbolito Bimbo Stars Tournament Champions

More than 50,000 youngsters –boys and girls- participated as part of more than 4,000 teams.

The games of the finals for the selection of the winners of the 2008 Futbolito Bimbo Stars tournament took place today. The finalist teams in the girls’ division were Puebla’s ‘Centro Escolar Niños Heroes de Chapultepec (CENHC)’ and the Plan de Ayala Grade School located in the Federal District, where the girls from Puebla gained the championship with a final score of 7 points to 2. For the boys’ division, the participation that was outstanding was Tijuana’s ‘Escuela José Vasconcelos’ school that won by scoring a golden goal over Puebla’s ‘Centro Escolar Niños Heroes de Chapultepec (CENHC)’ having finished with a goal score of 4-4 during the regular set game time. Both the girls and the boys gave their very best, leaving body and soul on the field to achieve the championship title. Both of the winning teams established that with real teamwork and dedication it is possible to accomplish great results.

The objective of the ‘Futbolito Bimbo Stars Tournament, is to contribute to children’s’/youngsters’ overall development and education, promoting physical activity combined with studying, unity in teamwork and a correct and adequate diet. At the same time it provides benefits to the participants that include coexistence and fun, a spirit of competitiveness and of becoming winners, along with a passion for sports. This year, Futbolito Bimbo Stars, the most important tournament of Mexican youngster soccer league, had the participation of girls and boys from the 4th, 5th and 6th grades from public and private schools in 43 cities all over the country regarding the boys’ division and 12 of them also housed the girls’ division. The participants in the regional and national stages and in the grand final, had the opportunity of competing on a fair and healthy basis, to demonstrate the sports’ abilities and to have fun and proudly represent their schools and cities, in addition to the promotion of unity through teamwork.
