Today, Grupo Bimbo announced its commitment to open its doors to 2,000 Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro (Youth Building the Future) in 2019 so that they can gain work experience and receive training in the company’s strategic areas. Grupo Bimbo is one of the companies that will take in the most participants each year, which will contribute significantly to the program’s objective of building their job skills and knowledge.

Grupo Bimbo would like the program participants to be 1,000 young women and 1,000 young men, who will have the opportunity to be trained in strategic areas such as sales, administration, production, and sustainability.

Participants will get on-the-job experience at 36 offices in 32 Mexican states and share the community spirit, integrity, and transcendence that have been passed down from one team member to the next since the company's first loaf of bread was baked 72 years ago.

Grupo Bimbo will also offer targeted occupational training to give the youths the skills they need to make them more successful in their personal and professional development.

On December 7, 2018, Grupo Bimbo and other private companies signed an agreement with the federal government to participate in this program sponsored by Mexico’s Ministry of Labor and Social Security, which aims to give 2.6 million 18- to 29-year-olds the skills and abilities they need to join Mexico’s labor force.

“We are extremely excited to welcome 2,000 youth to our home in 2019, to share with them the experience of more than 140,000 team members who are currently part of the global Grupo Bimbo family, so that with their energy and talent, we can work together to build a sustainable, highly productive, and deeply humane company,” said Javier González Franco, Senior Executive Vice President of Grupo Bimbo. “As a company with deep roots in Mexico, we have a long-term vision and commitment to future generations and the nation,” he added.

Grupo Bimbo’s participation in the Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro (Youth Building the Future) program reinforces the company’s conviction that building a more prosperous society is a job to be jointly carried out by the public sector, private sector, and the community.

Grupo Bimbo invites any young people interested in having this experience at the company to register at the official Jóvenes Construyendo el Futuro (Youth Building the Future) website:  https://jovenesconstruyendoelfuturo.stps.gob.mx
